Life as a Horse Illustrated Team Member

One aspect I’ve really enjoyed from the magazines moving online movement is the ability for magazine editors to really reach out and connect with their readers. The latest AnimalNetwork addition is the Horse Illustrated magazine staff’s blog “The Near Side – Dispatches from Horse Illustrated HQ.” They share adventures in their equestrian lives and fascinating horsey stuff they think you might enjoy between issues.

Have You Seen the Dog Park Locater

Did you have a good Memorial Day holiday? I surely enjoyed mine. I got a chance to explore around my town a bit. I also discovered that there is a dog park down the street and around the corner of my house. Who knew? Apparently all the dog owners that were there with there dogs knew.

I checked it out on DogChannel’s Dog Park Locater and discovered that they were missing photos of it. I think that when I get a chance this weekend I’m going to go down there with my digital camera and snap some shots for it. I know that seeing photos of places always seems to help seal the deal for me. You should check the Dog Park Locater out and see if there are any dog parks in your area that you can help get pictures of – or dog parks that you can visit with your pup.

Have You Considered Life as a Turtle

OK, so I’m a day late this week too, but I have a really good excuse for this Wednesday. I wanted to wait for Russ Case’s, the Reptiles magazine editor, latest blog entry.

For those of you that are not familiar with him, Helmut is the official Reptiles magazine and ReptileChannel red-eared slider. Helmut was found by a co-worker in her backyard about two years ago and he’s been with the company ever since he was brought in.

Russ took some time to record all the happening things that Helmut does all day. I thought it was pretty neat to sit down and look at what a day in the life of a red-eared slider was like. I decided to try and figure out what my cats do all day. From my observations they sleep, eat, drink, sleep, play, sleep, eat, drink, and sleep … oh to be a cat. Or even maybe a red-eared slider! Be sure to check out Russ’ entry “Turtle Diary” on ReptileChannel.

Do you know what your pets are up to all day long?
